Hotels have been mush rooming from the beginning of this century in Siem Reap/ Angkor. Sadly architectural quality and the respect of the environment have hardly been on the agenda of builders. Nevertheless two hotels stand out.
Angkor Village Hotel and Angkor Village Resort.
The name "Angkor Village" was until now famous for its Boutique Hotel located near the old colonial market. A traditional village of wooden architecture style built like a maze, where visitors enjoyably loose their orientation. In addition, lotus ponds, lush vegetation, graceful decoration of antiques, local handicraft and high quality Cambodian cuisine has made Angkor Village since 1995, The place for those wishing to discover or rediscover or rediscover Khmer Authentic culture.
In order to meet the demand from increasing and demanding customers, the owners-architects have built on the outskirt of town but close to the Archaeological Park the new Angkor Village Resort.

Similar to Angkor Village Hotel, the Resort also users the traditional wooden architecture but on a more grandiose scale. Entering the main section of the building you find yourself surrounded by moats. This is not looking any more like traditional housing but rather like Angkorian Palaces with their huge pillars, sevral roofs faces, inner atriums, etc. There you will not only find the entrance hall but also the Indochinese cuisine restaurant "Le Jardin", the lounge bar, the business centre, etc.
Walking further, you will discover the huge botanical garden where on more than 200 meters an amazing pool river is winding through the garden. It constitutes the uniqueness of this resort in Indochina. Rooms are pleasantly distributed along the pool river, only a few meters separate the terrace of the rooms from the private beaches dotted along the water strip. Numerous tropical plants, small wooden bridges crossing the pool river, arbours and salas make it a unique place for strolling and resting in Siem Reap.

The complex also includes a "Spa Village" where you can enjoy traditional massages after a long exhausting day visiting the Angkor temples.
Of course besides their traditional graceful decor, the rooms offer all modern amenities such as: LCD TV, internet access, WIFI, etc.
